Burkett Wins Tie-Breaker As Frewsburg Prevails

Frewsburg held off Jamestown 3-2 in a wild Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association tennis match on Friday.

Samantha Burkett won a third-set tie-breaker at third singles to edge Alayne Schobe, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), to clinch the win.

In other action, CeCe Eklum of Jamestown downed Elise Sposato at first singles, and Camryn Wilson rallied from a big deficit to knock off Anjolie Sanfilippo at second singles.

The doubles teams of Makena Adams and Emily Zamborik, and Allie Eckman and Amanda Cusimano provided the other wins for the Bears.

BEMUS POINT — Elise Swanson and Emma Collins won first and third singles matches respectively and the second doubles team of Brianna Karges and Sage Cresanti was also victorious as Maple Grove held off Falconer, 3-2.

Nicole Youngberg prevailed at second singles, and Aubin Barber and Ashley Pierce held off Emily Shick and Ryann Hayes in three sets at first doubles for Falconer’s two wins.
