Chapman Shines On Hill For Cards

RANDOLPH — Tommy Chapman through five innings of one-hit ball on the mound for Randolph, as the Cardinals (3-6, 5-7) earned a 10-0 CCAA Division 1 East baseball victory against Portville (8-7, 3-6) on Wednesday.

Isaac Hind went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Jake Brown was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Josh Brown was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the winners.

DJ Hlasnick fanned four and walked three through for Portville before being relieved by Kyle Murray.

BEARS ROLL TO WIN

ELLICOTTVILLE — Frewsburg scored six runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by Mark Mammoser’s RBI double, en route to a 14-2 five-inning victory over Ellicottville in Division 2 East action.

Nolan Brink went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Frewsburg (9-4, 5-4) while Mammoser added two hits and two runs scored. Reid Bjork scored three runs while Jack Yost and Aaron Hair each scored twice.

Brink earned the win while combining with Tim Wright and Trayden Gray on a five-hitter with six strikeouts.

Frank Neff, Steve Rowland, Hunter O’Stricker, RJ Alvarez and Wyatt Chudy each singled for the Eagles (5-7, 3-4).

PIRATES UPEND WILDCATS

CLYMER– Clymer (4-3, 4-4) earned a 4-2 Division 2 West win over Sherman (2-4) thanks to seven strikeouts and one walk from Lucas Willink.

Caleb Burick struck out five and walked five for Sherman before Mike Beatman took over and walked two in relief.

Garrett McClelland went 1 for 3 with an RBI for the winners, as did Lucas Willink.

Beatman cracked a double with an RBI and added a single in defeat.

FALCONER DOWNS KNIGHTS

SILVER CREEK — Falconer (2-8, 2-7) was a 4-1 winner over Silver Creek (7-7, 6-6) in Division 1 West play as sophomore Matt Gullotti earned his first win as a varsity starter, striking out five and giving up six hits.

Trent Wood was 3 for 4 with two singles and a home run, Tylar Olson was 3 for 4 and Bobby Samuelson went 2 for 4 with a triple for the winners.

Spencer Harford struck out two in five innings and also went 2 for 2 at the plate for the Black Knights.

PANTHERS PREVAIL

SOUTH DAYTON — Pine Valley was an 8-1 winner over Cattaraugus-Little Valley thanks to a fine pitching performance from Corey Ellis, who also added a three-run triple in the first inning.

Steven Crisanti had two hits, including a triple and three RBIs, in the win.

Andrew Minnekine and Jason Young both had singles in the loss, while Nick Burroughs fanned seven and walked two.

FRANKLINVILLE WINS

FRANKLINVILLE — Franklinville was a 9-5 winner over North Collins in non-league action.

Brock Blecha had a solo home run to lead the winners and Connor Burrell added a double, triple and three RBIs.

Anthony Novoa had a double and an RBI for the Eagles in defeat.

WESTFIELD DEFEATS PANAMA

PANAMA — Westfield downed the host Panama Panthers (1-8) 17-9 on the back of Dylan Scriven’s 3 for 5 day, which included three RBIs.

Bret Babcock was 3 for 5 as well, while Easton Seger was 3 for 4 and Luke Kawski was 2 for 5 with a triple in the win.

Dalton Goldberg had a solo home run to aid the Panthers’ offense, while Jevon Newman was 2 for 5 and Curtis Olson was 2 for 4.

BROCTON DOWNS CVCS

BROCTON –A seven-run, two-out rally in the fourth inning helped drive the Brocton Bulldogs to a 15-8 Division 2 West win over the Cassadaga Valley.

Brocton moved its division record to 8-0 on the season and a 10-0 record overall. With Cassadaga Valley at 6-2 in Division 2 West and two division games remaining for both teams, Brocton has clinched at least a tie for first place.

Bubba Brown was winning pitcher for Brocton, throwing five innings in relief and striking out nine batters. He also had an RBI triple.

Caleb Chelton had a two-RBI single and Charlie Rexford, who went 3 for 3, smacked an RBI single for Brocton. Brown wound up 2 for 4 with two triples.
