Bonnies’ Adams To Play In Senior All-Star Game

St. Bonaventure senior guard Jaylen Adams will play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Reese’s All-Star game this Friday in San Antonio, Texas.

The contest, which is for invited seniors who have completed their college eligibility, will be played at the Alamo Dome, which is also the venue for this weekend’s Final Four. The game will tipoff at 4:30 p.m. Eastern and will air on CBS Sports Network.

Adams is one of 11 players on the East All-Stars roster along with his fellow Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Year, Davidson forward Peyton Aldridge. Their teammates are Vladimir Brodziansky (TCU), Jevon Carter (West Virginia), Xavier Cooks (Winthrop), Gabe DeVoe (Clemson), Marcus Foster (Creighton), Jordan Howard (Central Arkansas), George King (Colorado), Zach Thomas (Bucknell) and Thomas Welsh (UCLA). Yale head coach James Jones will serve as the East coach.

The West All-Stars roster is Jordan McLaughlin (USC), Trae Bell-Haynes (Vermont), Bogdan Bliznyuk (Eastern Washington), Tyler Nelson (Fairfield), Desi Rodriguez (Seton Hall), Hayden Dalton (Wyoming). Yante Maten (Georgia), Gabe Levin (Long Beach State), Ben Lammers (Georgia Tech), Rokas Gustys (Hofstra) and Keenan Evans (Texas Tech).

Adams, who earned All-District honors from the NABC the past two seasons, was the fourth-leading scorer in the Atlantic 10 this season at 19.1 points per game. The Baltimore native also ranked third in the A-10 in assists (5.2 per game) and in 3-point field goal percentage (.436). Adams’ season included two games of 40-plus points with 40 at Duquesne and a career-high 44 against Saint Louis, a game in which he set a school record with 10 3-pointers.

He led St. Bonaventure to an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament, where the Bonnies topped UCLA for the program’s first NCAA win since 1970. St. Bonaventure ended the season 26-8, setting a school record for wins.

Over his career, Adams was a three-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. He is the top scoring guard in school history with 1,912 points.

MOBLEY TO PLAY

IN 3-ON-3 CHAMPIONSHIP

St. Bonaventure senior guard Matt Mobley will play in the inaugural Dos Equis 3-On-3U National Championship this weekend in San Antonio, Texas.

The event consists of 32 four-player teams from every Division I conference — seniors who have exhausted their college eligibility. The championship will be played Friday through Sunday at St. Mary’s University with a prize pool of $100,000. Each game prior to the championship will earn $1,000 for the winning team, with the winners of the final earning $50,000.

Mobley will be a part of the four-man team from the Atlantic 10 Conference. The rest of Mobley’s team will be officially announced later in the week.

The first two days will feature streaming coverage via Twitter. Sunday’s semifinals, third place game and championship game will air on ESPN2. Mobley’s team’s pool play schedule will be announced later this week.

This season, Mobley was the sixth-leading scorer in the Atlantic 10 at 18.1 points per game. He had 15 games with 20 points or more including three 30-point games. Mobley set a program record with 105 3-pointers. The Worcester, Massachusetts native also averaged 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Over his two seasons with the Bonnies, Mobley scored 1,209 points. He was named to the All-Conference first team this year and the third team as a junior.
