Xpress Are Shut Out By Lansing Wolves

The Southern Tier Xpress were shut out by the Lansing Wolves, 4-0, in an North American Tier III Hockey League game at the Northwest Arena on Friday night.

Lansing started out strong with two goals in the opening period, and added single tallies in the second and third stanzas to hold off Jamestown (14-20-0).

The first goal came at 4:41 of the opening period when Mike Forman recorded his fourth of the season from Brendan Smith. Later, at 12:43, Noah Pipper scored his seventh from Carter Stensland to make it 2-0.

With 3:17 left in the second stanza, Forman scored his fifth from Mike Schramm and Stensland to give the Wolves a 3-0 lead.

The final goal was scored by Smith at 6:56 left in the fourth period unassisted.

Ryan Pascarella was a busy goalie with 41 saves for the Xpress while Sean Finstrom made 26 saves in recording the shutout for the Wolves.
