Benefit 3D Archery Tournament Set For Saturday In Stockton

STOCKTON — The Chappy’s Outdoor Group will be conducting a benefit 3D archery tournament Saturday.

Since its humble beginnings, Chappy’s Outdoor Group has sent more than 1,300 wounded veterans on hunting and fishing trips. These outdoor retreats are proven therapy for veterans. There is an estimated 2.9 million wounded, ill and injured servicemen/women living in the United States today. Locally each fall a retreat has been held Clymer and this spring an event was held in Batavia.

Monies raised locally go to the national organization. Saturday’s event will take place at the Bear Lake Rod and Gun Club at 4391 Stockton-Cassadaga Road in Stockton. The cost is $25, which includes a meal at the conclusion of the shooting. An optional $10 money pot will be offered as well.

Shooters with hunter-type pin sights and or single pin hunter set-ups will participate in ranges out to 35 known-yardage 3D animal settings. Open class shooters will participate out to 45 known-yardage targets. The event will feature 30 McKenzie life-size targets with a five-target shoot-off for the top five scores from both classes competing for the top prizes, which will be supplied by tournament sponsor Ravlin Hill Archery.
