Sydney Burk and Erin Radack combined on a four-hitter with Burk fanning seven as Southwestern (4-1) topped Maple Grove (0-3), 9-3, in Division 1 West softball Saturday.

The Trojans scored eight runs in the first three innings, highlighted by a four-run first inning. Radack, Burk and Sarah Chau each singled in the first; Katie Brinkley singled in the second; and Radack singled again in the third for Southwestern.

Radack finished with three hits, including a triple, while Burk and Brinkley split four hits for the Trojans.

Meghann Nolan had two hits while Mary Nickerson and Allison Johnson each had one for the Red Dragons.

PORTVILLE STAYS UNBEATEN

PORTVILLE — A proficient hitting attack carried unbeaten Portville to a 13-5 non-league win over Ellicottville/West Valley.

Hannah Wilber had three hits; Jenna Lockwood doubled twice; Piper Slocum had two hits including a double; Carly Welty had two hits; and Kara Howard had a double for the Panthers.

For Ellicottville/West Valley, Jessie Sheffield had three hits, including two doubles.
