Cyclists Compete In Syracuse Over Weekend

Theresa Olson took home second place in the Women’s Cat 4 race for the Hollyloft/Alfies Cycling Team at the Syracuse Road Race on Sunday.

Sandra Leary took home seventh place in the Women’s Cat 3 Race as well.

At the Erie Spring Race Series No. 5 event in North East, Pennsylvania, Lora Pirrello took home third place in the women’s event and Bob Dahl claimed 10th in the men’s A race.

Josh Hogan took 11th in the A race and Doug Shutte placed 16th in the B race, followed by Ron Rosenberg in 18th and Rob Colburn in 19th.

Olson leads the Erie Spring Race Series in total points, followed by Leary in second place and Lora Pirrello in fourth place. Aaron McCarter sits in second place in the B race standings and Hogan is seventh in the A classification.

At the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series Wollyland Race No. 2, Sunny Terry took first in the 19-29 sport race heat.

The Hollyloft/Alfies Cycling Team will be hosting the first ever Jamestown Airport Road Race on Monday, May 31 at the Jamestown Airport thanks to sponsorships by Hollyloft Ski & Bike, Bilicki Law and slicktext.com.

There will be a citizen race course of 15.9 miles, an intermediate race of 31.8 miles and an elite race of 47.7 miles. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and races begin at 10 a.m. More information can be found at www.hollyloft.com.
