Be The Difference – A Music Lesson For Life
The groundwork for many musicians all began with learning the solfege syllables or what are commonly known as the scales.
To the advanced they seem almost elementary but to the beginner they are the critical stepping-stones for developing pitch, ear-training and sight reading of music regardless of the preference of instrument.
To the untrained, a simple note has very little importance unless it is significantly off-key and cringy to the ear but to the well-learned each note requires a high standard of accuracy and excellence with no room for variation.
This is critically important when musicians work together in quartets, bands and philharmonics. Each performer depends on the accuracy of the next. They bring their very best taking into account their role as a team and their responsibility as an individual to support that team.
In other words … putting others first by bringing your very best.
We need less of a mi, mi, mi, world and more about what we can do to add value to others, even when others may not do the same in return.
Be the difference.
