We Will Emerge A Stronger Country
The number and scope of Executive Orders that our current administration has enacted and is planning to enact has reached a critical mass. Essential government services that affect working Americans, most of which live paycheck to paycheck and many of whom live in poverty due to lack of economic opportunity in this “great” country, will fail or be cancelled as a result. The individual policies are too many to name, and that is by design.
Many of these orders are under legal dispute already, and many more are illegal and will come under dispute. Unfortunately, because due process takes time, the damage this administration has done will take years to undo. Fortunately, because we live in a country which values the due process guaranteed by our Constitution, our country will endure, and our felon President will face ever growing legal consequences for his human rights violations.
Our federal legislature has tools at their disposal to check and balance the Executive Branch. I am publicly calling on our Congressman Nick Langworthy, to whom I have written many times (and received canned responses not addressing my topics I was writing about), to take action to stop the human rights violations resulting from our President’s haphazard decisions. I realize that my request will fall on deaf ears, and I ask all the people who read this publication to contact our Congressman as well as our Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, demanding immediate intervention. We will continue to do our part to assemble, demonstrate, and communicate to defend our rights as humans and Americans.
Our Constitution insists that the Legislative Branch take legal action against Presidents who commit “high crimes or misdemeanors” while in Office. Considering that our President is a felon, I am not surprised that he has continued to break the law. We can expect more of the same until our legislature stops it. Congressman Langworthy, it is time to represent the people of our district in the state of New York as is your responsibility and listen to your constituents. Look to Senators Schumer and Gillibrand for guidance and mentorship. Stop being a GOP sycophant.
I want to add a personal note, publicly apologizing to President Volodymyr Zelensky for the disrespect he experienced during his visit to the White House. I further apologize for the ongoing disrespect demonstrated by our cowardly felon President, who has never faced or understood war which the brave people of Ukraine experience every day. The People of the United States will not walk away from Ukraine. Our current President, Vice President, and Secretary of Defense may threaten to, because they have no appreciation for the sacrifice that must be made to live free. They are privileged. Real Americans value freedom; real Americans will always stand with Ukraine.
To the fellow members of our district, and to all who read this, we are in an emergency. However, it is not time for despair. Our country and our values will endure. Tyranny, cruelty, criminality, and insanity will not continue to drive our policies forever. We will be stronger as a country when this Administration’s time is up.
