The Palace Coup Changed Nothing
It was with great amusement that I read the opinion piece by Paul Demler (heretofore “the Author”) entitled “Things Have Changed In A Few Short Weeks”, wherein the author claims that some great tectonic change has taken place by replacing the Leftist Sock Puppet known as Joe Biden with the Leftist Sock Puppet known as Kamala Harris.
The only thing changed by the palace coup against Biden is the increase in contradictions within the Democrat rhetoric. Prior to the debate the Dems and their MSM myrmidons assured us the Biden/Harris economy was doing great. But in the blink of an eye, Harris/Walz suddenly needed a “plan” to save us from the Biden/Harris economy (featuring price controls) to deal with inflation that apparently did not exist the day before the announcement! Evil Knievel couldn’t have made that leap!
One might ask why in 2024 we still need to tackle inflation even after the Biden/Harris brain trust enacted the “Inflation Reduction Act” of 2022. We were assured the Act would control inflation using massive deficit spending funded by printing obscene amounts of money. This was a truly unique approach to mitigating inflation that only the purveyors of nonsensical Modern Monetary Theory could conjure up. And why did Biden/Harris need an “Inflation Reduction Act” if the Biden/Harris economy was so healthy? After all, Biden/Harris inherited only 1.9% inflation from Trump. Yet, in spite of the trillions of dollars committed by the Biden/Harris Inflation Reduction Act, we still have an inflation problem that requires price controls? Hutzpah!
But let’s not accuse Harris/Walz of having no real plan for our wallets. Harris is openly plagiarizing (did she go to Harvard?) Juan Peron’s socialist economic policies that utterly destroyed Argentina back in the 60s. Not surprisingly, the Harris approach was also used by Maduro to transform Venezuela from the richest country in South America into the quintessential socialist basket case. The new Harris/Walz plan will undoubtedly do the same for America. Don’t cry for us, Argentina!
So let me offer Harris/Walz some sage advice. If Harris/Walz wants to impose price controls to protect their docile little proletarians from the ravages of Biden/Harris inflation, how about imposing price controls on Government? After all, Government is the fastest growing cost for Americans, and is an economic parasite – producing nothing – while sucking the proletarians dry and enriching the biggest corporations and their elite political guardian class with massive subsidies and preferential regulation. Let’s start with a 50% decrease in the size, reach, and cost of the US Government, and stop the eventual $Trillions in giveaways to greedy Wind and Solar corporations mandated by the Biden/Harris Inflation Reduction Act.
Perhaps Harris/Walz can also impose price controls on college education. Let’s force those fancy colleges like Harvard to reduce their tuition so that average people can afford it. If price controls will eliminate greed at the grocery store, it will also eliminate greed at Harvard. Those greedy college DEI administrators make too much money already.
“The Author” also attacks Project 2025 without ever mentioning what it says. I’ll bet he never read it, so I will offer him instructions on how to get a free PDF. Until he actually reads it, let me assist “the Author” to understand Project 2025: Here are the four principles upon which it is built (see page 3 in PDF). Quoting…
1. Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life and protect our children.
2. Dismantle the administrative state and return self-governance to the American people.
3. Defend our nation’s sovereignty, borders, and bounty against global threats.
4. Secure our God-given individual rights to live freely–what our Constitution calls “the Blessings of Liberty.”
“The Author” clearly finds these Project 2025 principles offensive, which begs some questions of him: Does he favor the sexual mutilation and indoctrination of children by the State? Does he approve of the Marxo-Fascist approach that replaces the family with the State? (Hitler and Stalin loved this!) Does he believe the US is no longer a country, but rather just an open piece of land where we print money and give it to illegal aliens? Does he object to individual liberty and personal responsibility?
But giving credit where credit is due, I definitely thank “the Author” for his entertaining column, which in itself reveals the fecklessness of the Harris/Walz ticket (and their supporters) when it comes to economic policy. Maybe next he can talk about the Biden/Harris/Walz foreign policy of “forever wars” to enrich the Military Industrial Complex.
Perhaps “the Author” could also explain why he supports Dems when they are the happy recipients of 60-65% of Wall St. political money (from Big Corporations), which he so roundly criticizes.
Can’t wait!
