Board Chair Thanks UPMC Chautauqua Employees
To The Reader’s Forum:
The persistence of this pandemic has, it goes without saying, disrupted and disturbed our lives – as individuals, as families, and as a community. But what also goes without saying – indeed, has far too often goes without even recognizing – is that throughout these past 18+ months, hundreds of our friends and neighbors have been consistently and faithfully rising to face the additional pressures of their demanding but essential work, serving our community throughout these difficult days and ensuring that, whatever else is lost or disrupted in this pandemic, caring, professional healthcare is still right here, close to home, for all of us, every single day.
And so, on behalf of the board of directors of UPMC Chautauqua, I want to be sure that this message does not go without saying:
Healthcare workers, for your ongoing service during this unprecedented health crisis, for attending to the most ill among us, for giving all of us the confidence that, night or day, care is available if needed, for bearing so much of this pandemic on your shoulders – we thank you. Your good and caring work, your sacrifices, and your impact on the lives of individuals, families and our community are recognized and are deeply appreciated.
