We Need People to

Stand Up For Our Country

To The Reader’s Forum:

Our forefathers forged a nation built on the idea that “all men are created equal” with endowed rights from their Creator. Churches, communities, businesses, families and individuals stand as testimonies to the blessing of liberty. Confronting the scourge of slavery, men died in the hundreds of thousands to finally correct the wrong and fully establish freedom and justice for all. We have reason to celebrate it, esteem it and defend it especially when attack by unruly mobocracy.

Positively portraying Black Lives Matter at a “Christian” university, Dr. Mia Moody-Ramirez, the chair of Baylor’s Journalism Department, hopes social media will continue to facilitate “everyday citizens” to “mobilize and organize large groups for protests, whether they are peaceful or violent.” Never mind the condition on the 1st Amendment right to assemble peacefully (not violently).

The professor winks and nods at Hawk Newsome, leader of BLM in NYC, who said, “Burn it down. If we don’t get what we want, burn it all down.” Should it all be burnt down for the 2 million Africans immigrating to America since 1980? Radicals, like Newsome, make you wonder if burning down America matters more than black lives. You’re led to believe that’s so when lunatics on the left desecrated a monument to the Massachusetts 54th, a black regiment fighting for the Union to end slavery.

The vandalizing mobs now turn their uncontrollable rage on Abraham Lincoln for not being black enough. Let anyone among them with greater character than Lincoln be the first to behead the statues of our nation’s historical figures and let those among the ignorant ingrates who are braver than the soldiers who died to defend our nation be the first to deface war memorials.

I recall President Reagan saying, “[It] is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” (“America is systemically racist.” “All whites are guilty of ‘white privilege.’ “) Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and even whitening products must submit to name changes. All this name-changing, statue-toppling and anti-police rhetoric regurgitates the viciousness of the vile French Revolution. Christopher Bedford for the Federalist pointed out how those following “King Mob” in that revolution first beheaded statues before beheading people.

A graduate of Harvard raised eyebrows with a Tik Tok video threatening to stab anyone who dares to say “all lives matter.” So far, 26 have died from violent protests over George Floyd. A father in Atlanta mourning over his murdered 8 year old girl wept saying, “They say black lives matter… You killed your own this time… They killed my baby… You killed a child.”

So, have Black Lives Matter made black lives better?

As a Christian, preaching the gospel of Jesus alone for freedom from sin, I celebrate America. There’s room for corrections as long as they orderly proceed. Unlike those bad-mouthing and hating on America, we need people praying and standing up for our country. Yes, the one BLM, Antifa and the mobs are hell-bent on tearing down.
