Trump Deserves Benefit Of The Doubt
Regarding the article “Will Trump Make American Great Again.”
I do not have reason for concern like the writer suggests. Give Trump a break. We have heard it all. He has been in office for two weeks. What the heck do you want from the man? As far as his cabinet nominees drawing criticism, the Democrats would oppose the Pope if he were to be appointed to some cabinet level position in the Trump administration. However, they wouldn’t oppose trash mouth Madonna even if he appointed her Education Secretary.
The writer falsely states that his labor secretary supports robots. His labor secretary supports jobs. Robots entered the employment market because productivity has declined. Plus they have made workers more efficient and manufacturing more profitable so they can pay their employees better wages. Productivity growth has been stagnant since 2009, averaging just 1 percent, well below the growth rate seen in the 1990s (2.2 percent).
The Education Department was created under the Carter administration and has had its issues. However, the writer in his usual prevaricating manner suggests the education secretary would work to gut public schools. It is ludicrous to assume that. The talk has been about vouchers which would be accessible to everyone. Our education system is under fire because of other issues. Issues which you should be aware of. Your elected officials send their children to public schools, why shouldn’t we be able to do the same? The writer states “what of the rest?” Well like The Post Journal states — “read, follow or get out of the way.”
Regarding the Energy Department, created in 1977 by, none the less, Jimmy Carter. It was established to make the United States energy independent. Ronald Reagan during his presidential campaign urged abolishing the Department of Energy citing it as a signal example of bureaucratic waste, inefficiency and ineptitude. Reagan made DOE’S termination a symbol for the new direction he hoped to bring to Washington. The Department of Energy currently has a budget of over $27 billion. About 21 percent of the Energy Department’s overall budget is allocated to energy-related functions like conservation, emergency energy preparedness and the energy supply. Well guess what? We are not energy independent. Trump wants to make us energy independent and therein lies more jobs.
The rest of the writer’s comments are baseless, non factual and rants. Unsubstantiated mumble jumbo and comments about the Secretary of State, health care, the wall, something about home buyers, and of course bringing jobs back to the USA, which he already has accomplished in just a two-week period. Is it not refreshing to see someone follow through on their campaign promises? I guess not, according to some of the articles I have read by cynical angry liberals.
It’s apparent that these angry individuals are going to disparage everything Donald Trump does no matter what. Which means they must have voted for Hillery Clinton. They are not embarrassed by the many lies she has told. She has lied about the lies. One which is especially disturbing verges on the edge of mental instability. She claimed she “ran with our heads down from the plane to avoid sniper fire at the Tuizla Air Base in Bosnia”. When confronted about the lie her reaction was “I must have misspoke”. Stop and think about that. Most of us would not even befriend a personality like that let alone vote for them to be president. It’s amazing how many did. No, Trump doesn’t scare me one bit. However there are people who do.
