As a life-long resident of Bemus Point, I can look back on many summers - some better than others. What made the favorable years? Was it the weather, the economy, the activities on and around the lake, or those in the village? More than likely it was some combination of all three. We can do little to affect the economy and certainly nothing about the weather. What we can do is present the village, the town and our individual properties in their best possible light.
I would like to thank the Town of Ellery the Village of Bemus Point, the Bemus Point Business Association, each of our individual local businesses, the Lawson Center, the Bemus Point Historical Society, the Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department, the volunteers on the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry, our churches, and our home owners for going the extra mile to make our village and town a place in which out-of-towners and local residents alike can enjoy and want to spend their time.
In particular, I would like to thank mayor Jeff Molnar and the Bemus Point Village Board, the Bemus Point Improvement Committee, Peter Conley III and Jacob Wozniak who championed the "Hometown Heroes" banners, Lorie Beaton, Sharon Gustafson, and Dianne Lucy for planting and maintaining our beautiful flower plantings and hangings, Joel Dahlberg and Mike Harris for making sure the village was always clean and presentable, the Ellery Town Board and all the Town of Ellery employees who insure the cemeteries and roadsides are mowed and maintained.
I would also like to thank Rachael Wiley-Steffen, Kelly Marker and each and every one of the Bemus Point Business Association officers and members for making our village a place where people - residents and tourist alike -want to shop, recreate and live.
