Don’t Forget What Happened On Jan. 6, 2021

To The Reader’s Forum:

As the fifth anniversary of the Trump-led attack on the U.S. Capitol goes by, along with facts of over 140 injuries to police guarding the Capitol building, the deaths of several people involved in the attack and calls for the hanging of then Vice-President Pence, apparently, voters in America are not afraid of the fascism displayed by Donald Trump but are afraid of the state of their pocketbooks!

Why do I say this? Well, in spite of the election of Joe Biden in 2020, the biggest reason for Trump being reelected was the fact that the “cost” of “things” were not reducing fast enough – regardless of the steady drop in “cost” of “things” coming out of the worldwide Covid pandemic!

Do people fail to recognize the TV images of the chaos caused by the “January 6 insurrection” – the overrunning of the police, the use of flagpoles and whatever the insurrectionists could get their hands on to attack the police, and the failure of President Trump to stop the attack before injuries and deaths occurred? And what about the human “feces” spread on the walls of the Capitol! It took $30 million to repair the damages caused on January 6, 2021!

Do people fail to recognize that, in spite of Merrick Garland (Biden’s Attorney General) “slow-walking” the Trump investigation, Trump was indicted for three separate federal crimes by Jack Smith, the special prosecutor? Do people realize the only reason that Trump did not go to trial on the charges was that he became president and he dropped the charges? In other words, justice (including a possible acquittal for Trump, mind you) was never served!

“January 6”, and its consequences, including pardons for the “J6” insurrectionists, the lies and distractions on the “Epstein Files”, the effect of tariffs on the economy and foreign interventions, which I believe, as said by former President Franklin Roosevelt, will be “a date which will live in infamy”.

How quickly have Americans, Congress and American voters fallen for those lies and misleading statements that are the hallmark of the Trump administration! Trump’s lies and misleading statements have exceeded 30,600 since 2015! (This is the opinion of fact-checkers at the Washington Post.) And America still has about three years to go! Unbelievable!

Remember the insurrection of January 6, 2021!
