To The Reader’s Forum:

I read that Trump is ending some tariffs he created that didn’t exist previously, in order to make normal grocery products less expensive for American consumers! My first statement is “I told you so” (tariffs are taxes) in a previous letter! Secondly, why are people, especially on Twitter (X) suggesting Trump is being good to Americans saying, “It was all part of Trump’s plan to curb inflation”, something that Trump caused by his ridiculous and illegal tariffs in the first place! In other words, how is Trump given credit to “cut” prices for using illegal means to raise prices in the first place!

Thus, there are several questions that follow such as, “The tariffs were illegal and why does it take the Supreme Court, generally favorable to Trump, to tell him so”, “Why bail out Argentina ($40 million ) to bring down beef prices instead of supporting U.S. cattle and soybean farmers”, “Why cause a raise in the price of coffee, which generally does not grow in the U.S.”, “Why cause general “inflation” by tariffs on imports, which are essential to manufacturing/assembly of consumer goods”, to name but a few of many questions! As Chief Justice Roberts said, as I did, “Tariffs are taxes”! Why did Roberts have to tell Trump this economic truth unless, that is, you are part of Trump’s “cult”! There is no proof to Trump’s claim (including his Cabinet Secretaries) that “trillions of dollars” are coming to the U.S., or are in the U.S. Treasury, provided by tariffed countries, to expand U.S. manufacturing capacity! Don’t just say it, show America the “receipts”! If Trump and his minions hadn’t pushed the false notion that tariffs were routinely good for the economy America wouldn’t be on the verge of a recession.

That said, why did Trump’s “DOGE” illegally fire/lay off inspectors general, and thousands of federal employees, without any reason, thus expanding unemployment numbers knowing these people will, likely, have to use food pantries. Why does JD Vance vilify illegal aliens by blaming them for the rise in home prices – he knows they don’t have “documents” and can’t afford homes anyway. Why does JD Vance support arresting citizens, and others who are not “the worst of the worst”, who have jobs and support the economy and the communities in which they live!

The insanity coming from the Trump administration is astounding!
