Trump/Langworthy Voters Will Lose Benefits
Readers' Forum
To The Reader’s Forum:
I wrote this letter to Rep. Langworthy.
What’s the rush to get the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” passed. Surely, you could take your time to make sure the negative drawbacks of the bill could be ironed out. The obvious, big problems with the bill are 1) that Trump’s bill has an artificial deadline, 2) Senator Lisa Murkowski could have held out for more benefits to Alaska, and that the alleged changes/reductions to health insurance and Medicaid are scheduled to take effect after the midterm election.
Do you realize how many of the people who voted for you and Trump will be adversely affected? There is no possible way you can adversely affect only Democrats and other people who didn’t vote for you and Trump! And to think that your district is one of the poorest in NY State. I know because I used to work for Social Security. What Congress has adversely done to that agency, to the staffing, will be the topic of other letters. Shame on you!”
So, I’ll again pose essentially the same questions to Republican/MAGA voters. Did you think you would be exempt from the cruelty of Trump’s and Langworthy’s bill? Did you think it would only apply to Democrats and other non-Trump/Langworthy voters?” In other words, of the millions of people adversely affected to give tax breaks to corporations and the wealthy what makes you so special? (By the way, all tax breaks given to the middle class will be made up by tax breaks to the “rich”, which is one reason why the federal debt will grow by $4 billion.) As Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said to other Republican Senators, “Don’t worry (the adversely affected), they’ll get over it.” That is exactly what Republicans think! Are you ready to “get over it?”
