Respect For Property Is In Eye Of The Beholder

The March 29-30 edition of the Post Journal featured comments by Mr. Bruce A. Piatz regarding the neighbor who did not pick up his dog’s feces when the dog did his business near a Vote for Trump sign. I quote Mr. Piatz: “So the gentlemen homeowner didn’t take it any further and went in the house like anyone with a little bit of class would have done. So you see, that would never happen in a Trump America because Trumpers respect one another and their property. They would never stoop to a low level confrontation like that…”
Yet, on January 6, 2021, Trumpers stormed the U.S. Capitol building in Washington and more than 174 people were injured, some killed, and the Trumpers caused damage to the building and contents in excess of $2.7 million. As a taxpaying American citizen I own a portion of our nation’s Capitol Building. Trumpers were not only disrespectful to that landmark, they were disrespectful to me and every other honest taxpaying American citizen who owns a portion of that building. And now we get to pay, through our taxes, the $2.7M cost to repair the damage Trumpers caused. Trumpers are respectful people? Respectful of others’ property? I think not!
