Reader Feels Dunkirk Was Right To End Scooter Use

Let me first just mention that most of these riders are not law-abiding citizens.
I rarely go up town. I live on the east side, my banking is done in falconer as well as my shopping. My first encounter with a bird scooter was on Prendergast Avenue and Third Street. They ran the light going to Second Street. I was on Third – who is responsible if he hits me or I hit him? No responsibility for a helmet — they are going faster than 30 miles per hour. The JPD has enough to do without monitoring this nuisance riding on the sidewalk at Save-A-Lot and Jamestown Pro Hardware as well as the Eatery Restaurant almost hitting people on the sidewalk.
Dunkirk was right.
