Judgement Or Blessing?
To The Reader’s Forum:
Abortion is a very controversial, prominent topic lately.
In the Old Testament God strongly condemned the practice of child-sacrifice by fire to a god named Molech He called it an “abomination” in Deuteronomy 12:31. We are still sacrificing children today; not to Molech, but for the god of self for the sake of convenience or the pursuit of many self-interests; not by fire, but by other torturous methods while the baby is within what is supposed to be the very safest spot for the most innocent. God gave women the greatest honor of carrying and delivering life. How did this honor get turned around to producing death? (I realize that some consider abortion for reasons such as rape or teen pregnancies, but there are good programs to help with these situations.)
I fear for great judgment on our country for such an abominable practice. But there is good news. God promises to show grace and mercy to anyone who comes to Him seeking His forgiveness. So whether you have had an abortion, performed an abortion, or promoted abortion, He will extend merciful forgiveness and peace to those who ask for it. And we who oppose abortion should be there to help and support those struggling with an unwanted pregnancy or hurting from a past abortion. I pray for a heart change of individuals and of our land. Only then can we experience His blessings.
