Hearings Bring To Mind John’s Gospel
To The Reader’s Forum:
The recent questioning of Judge Amy Coney Barrett by the Senate judiciary committee was quite interesting and revealing. Her answers to her Democratic inquisitors were polite, thoughtful and focused. However, I doubt that she satisfied any of her adversaries.
The spectacle reminded me of a verse from the prologue to the gospel of John: “And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
