Celebrate Connections With Local Food

To The Reader’s Forum:

While the “Back to School” season may look different this fall, one thing remains constant: Whether your child’s school day calls for lunch in the cafeteria or at your kitchen table, dairy farmers like me throughout New York are working to ensure children are nourished so they can grow, play, learn, and succeed.

October is Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate the connections happening all over the country between children and local foods. As a dairy farmer, I’m proud of our longstanding commitment to student health and success — from classroom nutrition education to supporting schools as they navigate feeding children in these challenging, changing times.

As families continue to adapt their daily lives to a “new normal” during these uncertain times, you can rest assured that on Country Ayre Farms LLC, we remain focused on providing a fresh, local food supply, namely the nutritious, wholesome milk from our cows, 365 days a year. Producing high quality milk starts on the farm with the care we give our animals – including a balanced diet and clean, comfortable living conditions.

Best wishes to all for a safe, healthy school year! Learn more about locally produced milk and dairy foods at AmericanDairy.com
