To The Reader’s Forum:

I’m writing this letter in regards to a job recently done by Jamestown DPW on a tree on the terrace in front of my property. A large limb hung across the street and into the power lines. The limb had been hit by numerous delivery vehicles and recently a garbage truck.

I voiced concern due to the fact that the tree crossed the street and went into the power lines.

Recently an employee was examining the tree. I went to speak with him. He introduced himself and I told him the scenario. He told me what the DPW would do. I asked him if there was a time frame. He told me within a week. Two days later I returned after doing some errands and grocery shopping. When I returned home, the limb was gone. The street and my property were free of twigs and branches. They also trimmed another tree on the terrace. Both trees have been there well over 50 years. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Jamestown DPW and its crew for a job well done.
