Gerstel To Perform At Comedy Festival

To the Reader’s Forum:

We write this letter to the readers of The Post-Journal in order to make sure that locals know that our niece, Leah Gerstel, is part of this year’s Lucille Ball Comedy Festival. Leah has been working as a professional singer and actress for close to twenty years and this year she, and her artistic partner, Megan MacKenzie Lawrence, are proud to present the kid-friendly portion of the Festival.

Leah has been living in New York City since her graduation from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. It was there that she first met Megan. While growing up in Jamestown, Leah performed in Jamestown High School musicals, and at the Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown, at Jamestown Community College and spent many happy years as a Junior Guilder. She danced with the Lorraine School of Dance and took voice lessons from Rosalind Huff in Warren.

While living in New York City, Leah toured throughout China with The Sound Of Music. She performed on Royal Caribbean cruise ships, worked for Disney, performed several times with the Peppermint Creek Theatre in Lansing, Michigan and appeared in off-Broadway productions. Leah and Megan, aka the Drama Ladies, have been performing as Eddy and Kit Mannerhausen for several years. These very proper English sisters have taught countless boys and girls, and their parents, proper manners through vignettes and songs that are sure to instruct and entertain.

On Aug. 10, as part of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, the Mannerhausens will be on stage in the Reg Lenna Civic Center at 11 a.m. to greet you with their delightful take on etiquette instruction.

We hope that you can support home-grown-talent and attend the Mannerhausen sisters’ presentation. These “Ambassadors of Kindness” are sure to entertain.

Proud Aunt and Uncle,

Bob and Irene Terreberry,

Maple Springs
