Reader Would Settle For Classic Voting Machines

To The Reader’s Forum:

In response to Norman Green’s article (Dec. 30) on potential changes to the voting process, I’d settle for a ballot I can read and a tabulating system you can be fairly sure is accurate.

As my vision declines, it’s becoming more and more difficult to fill in my ballot. I take my own magnifier and a small flashlight, but those hair-fine circles you have to “color in” (don’t go outside the lines) are getting impossible to find.

Also, I’m not sure the acursed “photo copier” voting system the federal government forced on us even tallied my ballot. What good are “instant” results if they’re not accurate.

Oh, how I miss the low-tech, reliable, trustworthy, fraudproof, hackproof, secret ballot AVM lever machines!
