Why Don’t People Like President Trump?

To The Reader’s Forum:

There has been some criticism in The Post-Journal about President Trump in spite of what he has accomplished for the American people in such a short period of time. I hear some negative comments from individuals in the community also but they are very few. When challenged with the question “what don’t you like about President Trump” I get the same robotic answer, “I just don’t like him.” That’s when I walk away because a constructive conversation would be impossible. Pretty much sums up the recent article about the President playing the blame game. Just unsubstantiated frustrated hyperbole which boils down to “I just don’t like him.”

Although President Trump has accomplished a great deal in just under two years it is not fair to accuse him of playing the blame game. Remember, when he said drain the swamp he meant Republicans and Democrats. Therefore he has had an uphill battle on some of his promises. Without bipartisan cooperation it becomes very difficult to move legislation through the House and Senate.

You won’t like Trump if don’t like the fact that consumer spending and confidence is surging. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like the fact that retail sales are up. You won’t like Trump if you feel making it easier to fire incompetent VA employees is a mistake. You won’t like Trump if you believe in open borders. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like that your taxes were reduced by the largest tax reform bill in 31 years. You won’t like Trump if you believe in sanctuary cities that hide criminals and murderers. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like the fact that he has already saved taxpayers $86 billion by cutting regulations. You won’t like Trump if you object to building a wall to prevent criminals, illegals and drugs from coming into the US. You won’t like Trump if you don’t believe that America should come first for you and your family. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like the fact that unemployment claims have fallen to a 45 year low. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like the fact that Black and Hispanic unemployment rates hit a record low. You won’t like Trump if you don’t approve of exposing corruption in our government. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like the fact that the U.S. jobless rate fell to the lowest level in 16 years. You won’t like Trump if you don’t like American Corporations bringing jobs back to the US. And you definitely won’t like Trump if he is awarded the Noble Peace Prize for peace negations between North and South Korea which benefits the whole world.

I could go on and on but it would be an exercise in futility if you have iconoclastic views. So what’s the point if “you just don’t like President Trump.”
