To The Reader’s Forum:

Sometimes I complain about paying taxes. However, I feel that my taxes paid to the township of Chautauqua are justified.

Not only do the highways get regular repairs and frequent snow plowing, but town residents also participate in an annual spring cleanup. We have the benefit of placing small, and sometimes huge, piles of junk and debris at roadsides to be picked up and disposed of by township employees.

This is a wonderful “green” service that prevents excessive debris to end up in fields, back yards and ditches throughout the town of Chautauqua. Thank you to all town officials and employees that provide these services.
