Reader Enjoys Picnic From Foster Grandparents

To The Reader’s Forum:

Lutheran Foster Grandparents gathered at the close of summer to enjoy a picnic lunch, fellowship, and the new assignments before heading back to their duties guiding children at local schools, Head Start programs, and Pre-Elementary sites as the 2017-2018 school year begins.

I could not have asked for a more enjoyable day as the Foster Grandparents gathered from the three counties of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany. Everyone assembled at the Celoron Community Building adjacent to Lucille Ball Memorial Park. Many wandered outside into Lucille Ball Memorial Park, as many never had the opportunity to admire the Lucy statue or “Scary Lucy.” The Foster Grandparents were thrilled as they posed for numerous photos around one of Jamestown’s own pride and joy.

The Celoron Community Center was comfortable and well suited our needs. I thank the Village of Celoron for sharing their “sweet spot” on Chautauqua Lake.
