Reader Feels The Press Should Not Be Attacked

To The Reader’s Forum:

The recent letter in The Post-Journal regarding the “irresponsible, loathsome, hate -filled and unprofessional press” had me seriously scratching my head in wonder.

So I ask the writer, “where’s the beef?” I mean the proof? I mean, I looked and looked and couldn’t find one bit of either! The writer felt that the press had failed to sufficiently praise Trump for his ” outlining of essential issues,” such as “expanded job opportunities through important infrastructure rebuilding.” I wonder, did the writer mean The Wall? You know, the one that our neighbor rapists down south will pay for? Trump’s outline for “improvements in education ” was cited. Did the author of the letter mean Betsy DeVos’ support for private as against public education, or perhaps her endorsement for guns in schools to ward off grizzly bears? By the President’s “improvements in healthcare” did she mean the dismantling of the ACA with privatization? By “affordable energy,” I assume fracking and coal mining was meant, but those are just my guesses.

As for replacing the “seditious, vindictive, slanderous and politicized ” press, I do have a suggestion: how about two alternative newspapers?: Pravda or Der Stuermer. They might do the trick!

Of course, we’d have to learn Russian or German, but hey, with Betsy as our Secretary of Education anything is possible!
