Court Decision On Travel Ban Doesn’t Keep Us Safe

To The Reader’s Forum:

A conference of bishops lauded the ruling by the 9th Circuit Court to reverse the pause on travel from nations notorious for terrorism. As I wonder why the conference of bishops receives millions of dollars from taxpayers for immigration, couldn’t they yet see that gambling with American lives by bringing in unvetted aliens from terror-active nations is neither constitutional, nor Christian? The Constitution states that we “secure,” not jeopardize, “domestic tranquility… and the blessings of liberty.” Besides, where in the Bible does it say that compassion requires throwing away reason and sound judgment?

The court felt that aliens from other countries void of proper vetting and havens for terror activity have just as much “due process” as citizens of the United States. Since when does the Constitution extend privileges of US citizens to whatever foreigners the court chooses? What’s to keep ISIS from having as much “due process” as you? The court felt that Trump’s words in the past about Muslims mattered, though nothing in the executive order mentioned them. The court felt that not enough terrorism has occurred to warrant any delay on travel from terror-hotbeds in the world. That’s not for judges to decide, but the president! Do you notice how common sense and logic leak out of the heads of liberalized judges who rule by their ideologically-influenced emotions?

Sledgehammering the separation of powers, the 9th Circuit acted not as objective jurists adjudicating the law but as a tribunal above the law. With all the attention on Trump being an authoritarian, what about the authoritarians abusing power in black robes? Usurping not only legislative authority, this latest ruling usurps executive authority as well. Thomas Jefferson sternly warned us about a power-grabbing courts.

They do this while claiming integrity to the Constitution. For all the concern about “Fake News,” keep a clear eye on the “Fake Constitution” activist judges use to advance their agenda. The 9th Circuit is known for their outrageous line of reasoning and outlandish decisions. This is the same court that deemed “under God” in the pledge as unconstitutional. This circuit has been overturned more than any other circuit. They are to the Constitution what the rioters were on campus at UC Berkeley. They destroy it and get away with it.

Congress can act by dissolving or severely restricting the 9th Circuit according to Article 3 Section 2 of the Constitution. Confirming Neil Gorsuch also would turn the Supreme Court in the direction where the text of the Constitution, not personal political preferences of a progressive judge, truly leads.
