Cold Weather Doesn’t Stop Christmas Parade
To The Readers’ Forum:
On behalf of the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation and our board of directors, I want to thank all of the area residents who supported and attended the downtown Jamestown Christmas parade at the beginning of this month despite the chilling temperatures.
The JRC is always faced with the difficult task of answering “How can we make this program/event better?” Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers, we were able to accomplish that yet again. We honored Jamestown Police Department’s K9 Officer Mitchell as our Grand Marshal and we watched an oversized, inflatable present float down our streets! More importantly, we watched as thousands of city and area residents came together to celebrate the holidays despite all the negativity that has engulfed our community in recent weeks.
Special thank you to The Resource Center, Shults Auto Group, Elite Kreation$ Auto Detailing, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, the City of Jamestown, the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts, and all of our event volunteers/staff for helping make the event a success in 2016. This event would not be possible without their help, support, and enthusiasm.
To anyone from the community interested in getting involved with next year’s Christmas parade or other free community events in downtown Jamestown, please call the JRC at 716-664-2477.
