To The Readers’ Forum:

I think it’s totally absurd, disgusting and downright ignorant that my daughter had to explain to her son how screwed up the world has become.

He has been told if he gets stopped for any reason put both hands in the air and show nothing but respect for law enforcement officers. You see, my grandson’s father is a very established and retired black Marine. My daughter is a Marine and has been for 25 years. So, if my grandson gets stopped, they see a black kid with nappy hair with expensive clothes and shoes and jewelry. What they don’t see is he’s a great student, a polite and respectful young man. He is 15 years old, has a job and pays taxes.

So, before you judge, please consider he was brought up Marine-style. He deserves nothing but the best and utmost respect.
