To The Readers’ Forum:

Falconer After-Prom is still going strong with our after-prom party. This year our kids celebrated Mardi Gras as their theme.

I would first of all like to thank The Post-Journal for doing such a awesome job with their coverage of the party and open house. We had a great turn out at the open house this year, everyone walked through the school and was amazed how we transform it into Mardi Gras with our own Bourbon Street. This year we welcomed with open arms Ralph Rasmussen to play in our Dixie Land Band … needless to say everyone was so excited to have him play here for us. We also welcomed Mary Weiler with her popcorn machine for another year at open house. The kids earned money playing themed games and at the casino and shopped in the Rio Boutique. We had a huge draw for our silent auction and our Chinese auction items this year that included TV, refrigerator, Fitbit, PS4, kayak, paddles and vest, gift cards, Kindle, Beats head phones and much more! They all ate all night unlimited, including king cakes made from our Home Ec Dept.. We had our own Bourbon Street Coffee Cafe with iced coffee and multiple flavored coffee which the kids really enjoyed.

We are already planning for next year and we welcome all parents to come find out what it is all about and help out. Falconer would never be able to do this without the community, staff, parents and local businesses. There are far too many donors to mention for fear of leaving someone out, but this year we had over 90 donors to make this event possible. We have a wall which we put all our donors on to thank them for their support at the party. We would like to send out a huge thank you to all who supported us this year and for years in the past. Once again I would like to thank everyone for their part in making this a huge success.
