Counting Down The Days Until Election

To The Reader’s Forum:

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am glad we’re nearing the end of the ruckus otherwise called election day. Why? Every day my caller ID is flooded with calls from NYC and Salamanca, amongst other places in New York state, wanting to know, of the two main parties running for office who I am going to choose, or neither.

I call back and make a selection, and then they call back. It’s a daily tradition it seems – you barely get one number blocked and then they call you on another number, and another number, so on and so forth. Aren’t there laws on the books about annoying/harassing phone calls? I shouldn’t have to put my ringer on silent, just in case a family or friend needs to get in contact with me. I think the federal Do Not Call lists should include everyone, including surveyors and political callers. They need to stop violating my personal space.
