To the Readers’ Forum:

As a resident and senior citizen of the pearl city of Jamestown, I want to say I am proud and happy to be a part of all that is happening here. We are so fortunate to have a mayor and city council who serve all of us so well. We are protected by our police and fire departments. We also have many community organizations who serve and help all those who apply. Our city is moving forward with new ideas to promote tourism. As citizens, we have the right to give our thoughts or opinions for or against an issue to our elected officials. Our schools are the best … our children are fortunate for having the education that is provided. I am a strong supporter of the sports activities provided by all of the area schools. This is how I feel about our community.

I will stay involved as much as I can including local tournaments, sports activities, veterans organizations, donations of United States flags to community organizations for their service and to support my city in any way I can. This is my home town and I will do all I can to help make it greater.
