Minimum Wage Reflects Entitled Generation

To The Readers’ Forum:

I’ve heard businesses squabble that the government has too much say in their business. Take minimum wage. Is it a godsend or a curse? A business any more is not only in competition for customers but workers as well. Some employers start their employees out at a decent wage – I heard one starts out at $13 an hour and doles out raises every so often. Many employers don’t do this, hence the high turnover rate. I know I wouldn’t want to be in a job where they paid so little in hours, pay and benefits. If I am loyal, punctual and dependable this should be enough to make you want to retain my services and pay me better. I’ve held previous jobs where I was on time, did the job well and never got above the pay grade I was hired in at.
