With Final Donation To Regional Cancer Care, LINKS Charity Ends On A High Note

Last week, the LINKS Charity made its final donation to the WCA Foundation.

The final LINKS Charity tournament was held last year with participating LPGA professionals coming back for the final round at Moon Brook Country Club, including World Golf Hall of Fame member Nancy Lopez.

Over the course of its 30 years, the LINKS Charity raised more than $1.8 million for cancer care in the Jamestown area. That money has purchased dozens of pieces of equipment for UPMC Chautauqua and its predecessor, WCA Hospital, over the years. An endowed fund at the WCA Foundation means the LINKS Charity name will live on at UPMC Chautauqua.

Dozens of sponsors, board members and volunteers made the LINKS Charity a special event each year, most notably Sondra Anderson, Mary Blair, Allen and Elaine Short and Brad Van Riper. Today, we echo Peter Sullivan, co-chair of the final LINKS Charity tournament, with a final clink of the champagne glass and toast those who have participated in making the LINKS Charity tournament a three-decade success story.
