County ‘Unfair’ Events Are Plowing Forward

It is great to see the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County 4-H Youth Development organization push ahead with its plans for the “Unfair.” The event, which was scheduled after the county’s Fair Board of Directors canceled the annual July event due to uncertain direction during the pandemic, will be from July 21 to 25.

One of the larger events to take place is the Animal Meat Sale, which will be at noon July 24. According to last week’s news release, 4-Her’s across the county have been working hard since October to raise top-quality animals for the sale. This year 57 hogs, 8 market goats, 29 pairs of market chickens, 14 lambs, and 14 steers will be available for purchase.

Buyers are asked to pre-register by calling 716-664-9502 ext. 208 or completing a short online survey via this link: https://bit.ly/3wDz38T.

This event is traditionally one of the more popular happenings of the county fair. With vaccinations on the increase — and COVID cases on the decrease — this is definitely worth doing.
