Hopefully Area Will Help Raise Enough For Bemus Point’s Fireworks Display

After so many months of cancellation notices, it’s heartening to see an organization raising money to hold an event.

The Bemus Point Business Association has started a GoFundMe account – gofundme.com/f/bemuspointfireworks – to raise money for the fireworks display. Kelley Marker, Bemus Point Business Association director, said the goal is to raise $10,000 to match the group’s first fireworks show that was held in 2019.

Nothing says summer in Chautauqua County like the Fourth of July fireworks around Chautauqua Lake, and having Bemus Point bringing its brand of fireworks to the lake would be a wonderful sign that things are beginning to return to normal.

It took less than a week for the association to raise 73% of its goal. We hope area residents will help the Bemus Point Business Association get the rest of the way to $10,000 — and then go support the Bemus Point businesses on July 4 who have worked to provide the fireworks display.
