Bemus Point Buses Will Keep Drivers Safe

Kudos to everyone involved in a Bemus Point partnership that can help businesses that rely on summer tourists and keep people safe at the same time.

The Village Casino, Southern Tier Brewery, Arthur R. Gren Co. Inc. and the Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System are teaming up for Getting Home Safe From The Point. CARTS buses will make two runs from outside the Village Casino at 11:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. to take people home after a night out in Bemus Point. The service is free and will drop people either at their homes or at hotels in the Bemus Point, Mayville, Lakewood or Jamestown areas.

Kudos to the Bemus Point businesses and Arthur R. Gren Co. for doing their part to make sure people can safely have a good time and to the county for being a willing partner. We hope the program results in full buses and a drastic reduction in driving while intoxicated arrests – particularly during this upcoming Fourth of July weekend.
