Ruth was born on December 15, 1953 in Jamestown, NY. Her parents were Rudolph and Rachel Schreck of Jamestown, NY. She died on October 28, 2026 at Heritage Green in Jamestown, NY.
Ruth was a long time resident of Prendergast Avenue in Jamestown and also spent several years at Chautauqua, and most recently lived in Gerry, NY. She and her family were long time members of 1st Presbyterian Church in Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Rachel Schreck. She is survived by her older sister, Susie Schreck, of Chesapeake, Virginia and several cousins.
Ruth liked being with and around people and also had a deep love of cats. She had friends wherever she was and will be deeply missed by all.
Ruth grew up with a musical father who taught her how to play the violin. She also was active in the Mozart Society, and the Music Study Club of Jamestown, and was a family music critic.
She wished to donate her body to the University of Buffalo for scientific study. Cremation will take place at a later date.
Burial will be at the Chautauqua Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held in the spring to commemorate her life.
