H. Peter Block, 75, of Sugar Grove, PA passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026 in his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Jamestown on June 9, 1951, the son of the late Hans J. and Gertrud M. Grunert Block and was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Russell, PA where he excelled in the wrestling program. He then attended Ohio State University and earned degrees in both Agronomy and Animal Nutrition.
Peter worked on and maintained the family farm in Sugar Grove and in more recent years was interested in developing organic crops. He was a member and past president of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, enjoyed hunting and showing dogs competitively, and belonged to the Allegheny Mt. Nite Hunter's Assoc.
Words can never express what a kind, generous, caring and loving person Peter was. He will be sadly missed by all.
Surviving is his girlfriend, companion and best friend, Tina Sadler; two sisters, Heidi Block and Winnie Przybelinski, both of Jamestown; and nephew, Tim Przybelinski, cousin, Nick Grunert, and aunt, Ingrid Grunert, all of Jamestown.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9th in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Pastor Rick Hamrick. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home Friday.
