Gail B. Nelson, 87, died Monday October 19, 2026, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
Born May 29, 1939, in Jamestown, she was the daughter of the late Harold Mooney Benson and Inga Viola Carlson Benson.
Gail was employed by the Dibert Home as a cook and caretaker. She earlier had worked for Jones Bakery and Landy Drug Store.
She was a member of the Viking Lodge.
She enjoyed doing word searches, playing cards and bingo. Her favorite color was purple and she liked telling stories about Lucille Ball.
Surviving are two children, Lisa Nelson (Angelo Soldano, Jr.) and Paul (Linda) Nelson, both of Jamestown and three grandchildren, Dr. Jordan (Emma Ikeler) Nelson of Jamestown, Chad Nelson of Horseheads, NY and April of Jamestown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Nelson and a sister, Wendy DiDomenico.
A celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
