Anthony (Tony) Sarno

1941-2026

Anthony (Tony) Sarno, 85, of Celoron, NY, passed away on September 30, 2026.

He was born in 1941 to George and Ann Sarno in White Plains, NY. Tony married the love of his life, Mary, in 1969, sharing 45 wonderful years together before her passing.

Alongside his father, Tony co-owned and operated George's General Store for 65 years, becoming a staple in his community. He also ran M&T Bookkeeping and Tax Services until his passing. Proud of his service to his country, Tony spent 21 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Beyond his work, Tony lived a vibrant and active life. He was a dedicated train enthusiast and an avid sports fan who loved bowling, golfing, softball, and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees. He even trained to be a pilot once. Above all, his absolute favorite pastime was playing cards and grabbing breakfast with his close friends.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, George and Ann Sarno, and his wife, Mary.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Wilson; his sons, Matthew Henry (Josie), George Sarno (Michele), and Vincent Sarno (Carole); his grandchildren, Joshua States (Amber), Mariah Qamar (AD), Brandon Henry (Samantha), Destiny Sarno, Jonathan Borbas, Thomas Holmes, and Meghan Holmes; his great-grandchildren, Jennamarie States, Damien States, and Inarah Qamar; his great-great-grandchild, Peyton Pacitti; his sister, Georgiann Rizzuto (Fred); his beloved and indestructible dog, Spike; as well as many loving cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow. Military Honors and burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
