Ruth A. Scavone Crandall, 87, formerly of Jamestown died September 4, 2026, in Oregon.
Born October 29, 1938, in Olean, she was the daughter of the late G. Lowell and Clara Cole Wilcox.
She was a 1956 graduate of Downsville Central School at went on to attend Jamestown Community College.
Prior to her retirement in 1998, she was employed by Lexington Die Casting in customer service. She earlier had worked for Burke Motors- Howlett Cadillac Oldsmobile as office manager.
Ruth enjoyed dancing, playing slots, solving crossword puzzles and attending Group of 8 parties. She was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, New York Yankees and NASCAR.
Surviving is her special niece Linda (Pete) Fisher of Bend, OR; nephews Tom (Janet) McCrea of Bend, OR and Richard (Debbie) McCrea of Nevada; special cousin Lucille Kimball of Fairborn, OH; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; stepson David Crandall of Busti; stepdaughter Jerri (Chuck) Youngberg of Falconer; three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul D. Anderson; second husband Philip Scavone; third husband David Crandall, Sr; two sisters Margaret "Peggy" McCrea, Lois Ann Wilcox and a niece Diane Perkins.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
