Ruby A. Holtz, 62, of Jamestown, was welcomed into Heaven on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
A lifelong area resident, she was born February 26, 1964, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Sherrill and Evelyn McMurdy Surrena.
In earlier years, she and her husband, Edward, owned and operated We Care Car Center. She was also the founder and owner of Rudy'z Pizza. Most recently, she cofounded and operated Urban Armory alongside her husband Edward.
While she took pride in her work, Ruby's true calling was her home. She deeply enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Family and faith were everything to her. Her family attended Zion Tabernacle Church in Jamestown during her earlier years, which is where Ruby built the strong Christian faith that guided her throughout her life. She inspired, uplifted, and touched the hearts of all that knew her.
Ruby was a visionary, a designer, incredibly creative and artistic. She enjoyed filling her time with music, planning gatherings, extravagant events, and, above all, taking care of her family, she loved so dearly.
Surviving is her husband, Edward R. Holtz Jr. whom she married August 1, 1987; eight children: Matthew R. Holtz of Jamestown, Edward R. (Kelsey) Holtz III of Jamestown, Travis A. (Jessica) Holtz of Friendship, NY, Justin C. (Cristina) Holtz of Dandridge, TN, Jonathan M. (Malary) Holtz of Sinclairville, NY, Cadence N. Holtz-Bush (Matthew Bush) of Jamestown, Victoria F. Holtz of Jamestown, Kathryn A. Holtz of Jamestown; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Daniel Surrena, Edward Otis Surrena; two sisters: CherylAnn Surrena and Kelly Surrena.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Sherriald "Jr" Surrena and James David Surrena.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday September 16th at the Falconer Funeral Home. With the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. Rev. Robert Reeves pastor of Zion Tabernacle Church will officiate. The burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
