Milton Roger Lawson, 97, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. He was born in Jamestown, New York, and he is the son of Delbert Lawson of Westfield, New York and Genevieve Yager of Fentonville, New York.
He was a graduate of Falconer High School in 1946. He served in the Army from 1950-1952 in the Korean War as a radio man. He is a lifetime member of the VFW in Bemus Point-Post 557.
He was married in 1952 for 59 years to Shirley (Johnson) Lawson of Jamestown, New York. He moved to Massachusetts in 1959 and later to Orlando, Florida in 1969, where he worked in sales and retired. His hobbies in retirement were going to antique engine shows, MG club activities, flea markets, garage sales, watching Nascar and enjoying his cats Angel, Pumpkin and Molly whom he cherished.
He is survived by his son, Gary Lawson of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Melanie Lawson of Orlando, Fla.; son, Jonathan Lawson of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, Michael Yager (Dona) of Bemus Point, New York; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Lawson. In addition, he has a granddaughter, Autumn Lawson; granddaughter-in-law, Kirstie Lawson; great-granddaughters, Hailey and Katelyn; and great-great grandchildren, Caspian and Elena; and many nieces and nephews who loved him.
He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley; brother, Bruce Lawson; sister, Alice Sopher; sister-in-law, Joyce Schultz; and grandson, Vincent Lawson.
A celebration of life will be held in January, 2027.
