Millie (Finlan) (Etter) VanHouten, 78, of Warren, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Rouse Home.
She was born in Warren, PA on June 14, 1948, the daughter of the late Richard and Laura (Crippen) Finlan. Millie worked as a hair dresser at Levinson Brothers and also an aide at the Rouse Warren County Home. After she was done working at the Rouse, she spent much of her time volunteering there. Millie was a den mother for Cub Scouts for many years in Irvine and was President of the Junior JCC's Wives Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing piano, needle crafts and her flower and vegetable gardens.
Millie is survived by her loving husband, Ernest VanHouten, her children, Donovan Etter of Starbrick and Colleen (Jamie) Haberman of Idaho, her step children, Barb (Brian) DeMontier of Knoxville, TN and Richard (Anne) VanHouten of Starbrick, her siblings, David Finlan of Starbrick, Gary (Cherie) Finlan of Titusville and Margo (John) Firestack of Alaska, her high school friend, Debbie Pfeifer, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Etter.
A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
