James Duane Tingue, 64 of Jamestown passed away on September 20, 2026, at his home after a brief illness. He was born on August 27, 1962, in Jamestown, a son of Marvin and Phoebe Tingue.
James "Tank or JD" as he was known was a 1980 graduate of Jamestown High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1980-1984. James retired from the Resource Center after a 40-year career as a Behavior Specialist.
James boxed for the Jamestown Police Department in his senior year of high school. He also played softball and played in a pool league for Crescent Inn for many years. James enjoyed fishing and was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan.
James is survived by his brother, Michael Tingue (Valeri), his nephews, Brandon Tingue, Erik Tingue (Haley) and Nicholas Tingue, his nieces, Michele Tingue, Jamie Willians Jones and Tori Carlson-Abraham (Jake) and his great nieces and nephews, Patrick, Paris and Byron Tingue, Lily Jones, Braiyden Blake, Lochlin Fero, Camdyn and Zayden O'boyle, Zoey and Jackson Abraham and Jemma Tingue.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Tingue on 8/28/2003 Phoebe Tingue on 1/19/1987 and his sister, Bonnie Katherine Tingue.
