Howard L. Cook, 90, of Largo, FL, formerly of Kennedy, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 10th, 2026 at HCA Largo Hospital.
He was born October 6, 1935 in Gowanda,NY, the son of the late Warren and Virginia Sheppard Cook. Howard graduated from Randolph Central School in 1954. He attended the Buffalo Bible Institute from 1954 to 1957. He was employed by Buffalo General Hospital for 39 years. The last 25 being in the purchase Department. After retiring, he was a volunteer for the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was an avid Baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Barbara Petrie who he married on July 18th, 1964 in Buffalo NY. One son, Brian L Cook (Molly) of Jamestown NY. Two daughters: Lori A Finch (Rich) of Kennedy NY and Lisa M Kapodistria (Greg) of New Port Richey, FL. Six grandchildren: Kristen Finch (Jess), Kelly Finch, Kaylyn Finch(Jay), and Kameron Finch, Gregory Kapodistria and Garrett Kapodistria. Three step grandchildren: Zachary Smith, Rachael Smith and Levi Smith. four Great grandchildren: Maleeyah Finch, Lashon Hayes Jr., Elara Park and Emden Park and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert G Cook in 2002.
Per Howard's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service observed. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Kennedy NY.
